Clearly, I have far to much time on my hands at the moment, but I had taken a real fancy to making some paper windmills ... tiny ones ! I fixed the centre with brads and used some clay to stand in a tiny tub I had lying around.

Some Christmas Cards
I managed to make a whole batch of Christmas cards, using up free papers from various craft magazines. And I am particularly in love with these gorgeous angels which are a digital download from SJ's little musings I must start my cards earlier next year !
Re-vamped & Pretty baby food jars
I managed to collect a huge stash of baby food jars as they were just too cute to throw away. Very simple to make and pretty gifts you can see some more on my website here
Inside each of these dinky jars I have popped a sweet smelling vanilla candle. I've also used them with little bags of peppermints and chocolates.

This is a very neglected blog indeed !
So bad at keeping up with blogger. My PC time has been so limited this year with two little people who I have been thoroughly enjoying.
Website is doing well and I'm pleased with how things are progressing - albeit slowly. But that is - of course- how I would expect it to be. Time is a very valued commodity to us all and most of mine is spent with my little people !
I have been busy though. Lots of ongoing projects, lots of completed projects and have been meeting some like-minded people who enjoy crafting for a few hours one day a week via ds's nursery.
Here are one or two pictures of things I have been working on, and I really do hope I can give a little bit more time to this dear blog (even if I have now lost year's worth of back pages ... still - ever onwards!)

ChickenPox
Arrived at our house end last week, DS first though thankfully it seems to be a very mild case. DD on the other hand ... showing all symptoms and a few spots so far ! Very difficult trying to explain to a toddler why not to scratch, even more difficult to a baby lol. So apart from a lot of sleepless nights a ton of calomine cream and lots of cuddles seems to be helping.
On a crafty note, still slowly re-organising my little space, and have been working on a shrine for an arty swap I'm taking part in. Hoping it fits the bill.
No pics today, some to follow soon.

Busy Morning
So far today I've achieved not a lot of work, but I have sorted out some banking, taken Amy for her jags (wee soul!), dropped Josh off at his play-date and am totally procrastinating ... I don't know where to start today !
But I do have these little gorgeous pegs which were given to me, from John Lewis vintage summer range, I have some dinky little magnets which would work on these, clip a picture or shopping list and pop in the fridge.
I've also been beavering away on ... because I couldn't bear to throw them out, some little recycled/upcycled baby food jars ... hoping to get some more done at the weekend, with a bit more ooomph on them lol - the best ones were snapped up by my mother !
I'm going to try out Linda's Grunge Rose Tutorial on these, think they might look quite swish.

I've posted a little competition on facebook on my Trinketz page
Up for the taking is a handmade Cherry Quartz bracelet, which has a button and ribbon closure so can be adjusted to any size. To be in with a chance of winning, simply post a comment here - simple !! All names will go into a hat and drawn at random to select a winner, we'll do a vid clip of the draw ... so we all know it is fair. Closing comp Friday 30th April x

Knitted Ring Instructions
Ok if you are a knitter you'll probably easily have worked out how to make this ring ! But essentially, knit a small I-cord either 3 stitch or 5 stitch and knit your tube to the size you require (I knit mine a little small to allow the wool to 'give').
Finish off the i-cord and quite simply sew on your button stack, or beads, to the join end of the i-cord. Tie off all threads & yarn, and weave it through the centre of the cord, making little knots as you go (if you can !) to secure and then simply cut off. You can also embelish around the ring base with little seed beads, or crystals etc. Or you could go one step further and knit a long i-cord tube and make a choker.
As there are a million tutorials on i-cords, I'm not going to create a new one, but have a look at Stich Diva if you need a pointer. Her tutorial has lots of pictures and is easy to follow: here
It's a great way to use up leftover wool and buttons. You could also use the icord on your scrap pages & cards !

And had to post this
Scary!
I am now offically self-employed and you can see my website here www.trinketz.co.uk It's been great fun building it from scratch and a real learning curve too ! So please tell me if there's anything glaringly obvious I have missed !
I've been making these little button pendants
And thought it might be a good idea to use a customer's own fabric ? I've made myself, my sister and my mother one from a lovely scarf belonging to my dear nana who passed away, and well it's nice to remember her by.
I also have kept the cutest little first sleepysuits for both kiddums and was thinking of (if I can bear to!) making pendants from that material too ? We'll see !!

All new for 2010 !
So little time to blog these days. Had a look over older blog notes (quite a years of them had been archived into my delete and don't read again file ha ha ha), and didn't I just have all the free time in the world to chitchat, post pictures, and general blog hop !
Anyway am using my blog again for two reasons:
1. to keep me motivated and moving along with my projects
And
2. to stop me from drifting away from my fav places - when I don't blog ... I forget to read up on others (after facebooking this week, I've realised how much I'm missing lol !)
So this year my absolute favourite camera crapped out on me. So after much fluttering of lashes, dipping into my savings account etc I am now the proud and super excited new owner of the canon powershot s90 (my old one was the S60 and I thought that was the dogs !!) This new baby is just brilliant, does everything I want (and more) and can fit into my pocket love it love it love it.
Just before I turn my blog over to my new venture ... a teensy update of the babies : Both are yummy scrummy, mostly well behaved (aren't they all !) and to me just the most adorable little beings in the world.
